I can’t believe I am STILL falling into the trap of arguing over opinions. I’ve just had a very frustrating IM conversation about how I like soulless pop music and apparently that isn’t okay, and ARGH. If we were discussing it in real life, I could at least be rude and override them to get my point across. I don’t feel as if I have said what I wanted to say on the matter, but I can’t be bothered to continue.
Everything is pissing me off, today. All these little things that just won’t go away. I think once this is posted, I’ll go lie down in bed and try to relax. I’ve been playing my DS for the last couple of nights, in an attempt to get through this Kingdom Hearts game. Load, complete mission, arrange panels, save, switch off, repeat. I’m still not into it yet…those blocky graphics are just not endearing to me.
Check out the presents I’ve been wrapping…

Aren’t they beautiful?! I’m going to get the last of my cards sorted this weekend, so that they can be posted on Monday. I need to send a few to the USA, and also get ones posted for Tom and Simon. Simon is amazing, by the way. If you’re reading this, thank you for being fantastic.
He only went and bought my poetry book, you see. <3 This delights me. Even my own mother hasn’t managed it, yet. I have lovely friends.
Oh, and tomorrow? Maybe there’s a new arrival on the horizon…

/ 14 December, 2009Grrr, what morons! *Stabs them with a cactus*
I never understood the whole ‘Anything that isn’t groany and about death (and/or taxes) is soulless! You must listen to absolutely nothing but super-serious screamy music with woman-in-childbirthing-labour vocals if you want me to respect your taste in music! Everything I like is awesome and anyone whose taste differs is wrong!’ mentality.
It’s pretty sad that someone who seems to get so misguidedly passionate about music decides to discount an entire genre like that; I listen to pop music for the same reason I’ll choose watch a comedy over a Korean drama or a western or a horror movie, etc. – because different moods call for different music. Sometimes it’s great to listen to something peppy, upbeat and uplifting. The fact that this person seemingly got bafflingly offended by your taste in music of all things is rather sad and ignorant of them – people have different tastes, and as long as *they* love what they listen to, as long as it makes *them* happy, then what’s it got to go to anyone else? There’s greatness in every genre if people look for it, and diversity kicks ass. Any time anyone tries to make you think differently, dance happily in the knowledge that they’re paint-drinkingly retarded, so their opinion is rendered null and void.
And shush, missy! ^_^ *Feels special* I’m anything but fantastic.
I love your writing wholeheartedly, and you forget that I eagerly read through everything on your FictionPress account, including both your books; having more of your wonderful writing, and being able to read it in book form and have it on the shelf is amazing.
And anything that encourages you to get more of your work published is only ever a good thing, since then I’ll get to read more of your writing.
So really it was a selfish act for which I should be the target of your scorn and thrown garden gnomes.
Aha.
Just be sure to get your short story collection finished quick, so Revolve doesn’t get lonely on the shelf.

/ 14 December, 2009See, look at what lovely comments you leave me! You ARE fantastic, clearly!
You’ll have to let me know what you think, when it arrives
I know it’s expensive for a book but it does look really professional and pretty when you have it in your hands!! Shame about the content, mind.
And never fear, I ordered a proof copy of my short stories collection not five minutes ago. When it arrives I’ll check through it and get a few opinions, then it’s just a case of editing & adding in my friend’s illustrations, when they’re ready.
So hopefully it won’t be long at all before it’s ready!!
…And then I can finally finish off Nom. XD
