So, today was the great adventure to London to spend the day at the ATP World Tour Finals…I was gonna be excited whatever happened, let’s face it, but imagine the sheer unadulterated joy I experienced upon learning that RAFA WAS SCHEDULED TO PLAY!!! Cue frantic paranoia in the hours that followed until it was confirmed (then taken off the official website’s order of play, then put back on).
Seriously, my life is now complete. I have sat in the same room as him, watched him play, and even though he lost the match and never really got out of second gear (the boy needs a rest, I’m confident he will come back storming in 2010), I am so happy.
Wanna see some pictures?
We were sat in the nosebleed seats, so I had to rely on my zoom lens to get anything resembling a person into the shot, so…they’re not great, but really, I don’t care. You had to be there, just to experience the atmosphere and feel part of the crowd, and witness the speed and spectacle of it all.
No pictures or video could do live tennis justice. Anyway, let’s give it a shot…these are just a few of the ones I took, that I’ve just finished resizing. I’ll go through my camera properly when I have a spare few hours, and choose out some more!
The venue! This elaborate waste of space!
…at this point, I’m rather excited.
The order of play for today! I only stayed for the first two matches.
The view from our seats!
Here are the boys, getting ready.
I loved the spotlights!!
I’ve linked this picture, so click it to view the full-size version!
Convenient big screens allow you to see Rafa’s many mid-serve facial expressions close-up. In slow motion.
Well done Nole, I hope it’s enough to get you through to the semi-finals.
I’m so excited about next year, now, because I’m going to Roland Garros! I don’t have tickets, and there’s no definite plan, but oh, I will be there!
And hopefully in better seats so my photos won’t be microscopic. Still, I’m so happy. <3
Also, Nicky’s uploaded a couple of results from our photoshoot on Monday night! I’m looking forward to seeing more. I look awkward, but hey, at least my hair looks good.

My tights were actually blue, I’m really impressed with how she edited them.

Also, just out of shot was Nicky’s amazing lighting assistant Greg, who was so sweet and helpful.
Annd finally, a blast from the past. Joe uploaded this to his Facebook! How old are we here? Not very.

I still have that rabbit backpack thing. He’s called Sydney.
But anyway, seeing this and my ratty hair (although I can’t wait until it’s back to that length, give it to me now) got me thinking about the Civic. Even though we moaned about how constantly bored we all were, I think we all secretly knew they were certified Good Times. The days were simple and always the same, and all we ever cared about was laughing. I’ve grown apart from practically everyone I met up there now, despite the fact we all said we never would. Times change and I must change with them. Still, it’s nice to look back and remember, sometimes.

I will leave you with my beautiful fluffy bunny rabbit, who I adore so much. <3 I can’t wait to get a friend for him, I hope they get along. Honestly I look at him sometimes and think, why am I such an angry, miserable person? Look at this wonderful creature. All he cares about is food, water and love, in that order. I should try it, just for a day.
