I have two things to celebrate today. Actually, three.
The first is that Rafael Nadal has made it through to the second week of the US Open, his first slam after coming back from months of injury. We are blessed to have you, Rafa. <3 Every match you win is a step forward on the road to recovery (and, of course, the eventual theft of the number one ranking spot).
The SECOND thing is that I stepped on the scales today, not really hoping for much, only to discover that in the past two weeks or so I’ve dropped 4lbs. So that takes the weight loss total in the past month or so to 8lbs.
Slow but sure progress! If I lose another 8lbs I will be very, very happy. I can’t imagine how I’ve put on so much weight since leaving uni! Well, I’ve cut out a lot of the crap I was eating and gone walking for an hour everyday, so that’s something. I was horrified at the weight I saw. I tried on two of my nice shirts and a dress and they were so tight, it was horrid. I’ve got one of the shirts on now and it fits again, thank the lord.
I’m gonna wear it out tonight. Probably gonna try and squeeze into the dress for Lisa’s graduation, tomorrow. SO PROUD OF HER. <3
My final thing to celebrate is…I got the job at Waterstone’s! I start a week today. These next few days will be all about panicking, looking up new book releases, and trying to hype myself up for it. I never used to be so withdrawn and closed off from everyone, I’ve been so aware of it this week. I really feel like I bore the hell out of these nice people I’m spending time with.
But if I’m put in a situation where I have to come out of my shell, I might be okay. I’m excited, though. New people, new challenges and MONEY. I have missed it.
I’m gonna leave you with an adorable video of my rabbit, eating some broccoli. Sounds dull, but trust me, he’s so cute it hurts!
