I am heart broken. Gutted beyond all belief.
Where were you, Rafa? Why didn’t you show up? What planet were you on? You kicked Hewitt’s ass in three sets and it was so convincing, I didn’t think I’d have to worry about you today.

I never thought I’d feel disappointed in him, and the worst thing about all this is that what we feel as fans can’t even begin to compare with what he’s feeling right now, the disappointment and anger he has in himself. He doesn’t even have the consolation of saying he played his best, because he really didn’t. Not even close.
Oh, Rafael. That hurt far more than I thought it would. I didn’t think for an instant you would lose that match, against ROBIN SODERLING of all people, and I’m sure you didn’t either. What a shit day. What a shit final the French Open is now guaranteed to host, without the best player in the world at one end of the court. Federer might actually win, for once.
Urgh. This is a nightmare. Wake me up, please. It can’t be happening. I’m going to blame that horrendous pink t-shirt, because really, that’s the only thing I can think of to take my anger out on.
He must feel so terrible. And we’re all feeling it, too. Defeat burns. I hope he’s okay.

/ 1 June, 2009agree with everything you say – except that the press now think that darling ‘oh i’m so great doesn’t matter that i have no personality or looks’ mr murray is now going to win it. i hope he gets hammered.

/ 2 June, 2009The only thing more annoying than Rafa losing like this would be Andy “I’m an awfully annoying Anti-English tempestuous swine, but the rules of patriotism demands you like and support me” Murray winning the whole damn thing. Soderling can redeem himself by smashing him to smithereens, but for some reason, I don’t think its going to happen. His moment of glory has happened. I can only hope that Federer, who is looking VERY shaky, takes what is surely his ONLY opportunity to win this Slam (because we all know he’d have no chance against Rafa) and puts Murray to bed. I never thought I’d root for Roger the Has-Been, but if it comes to it, I will.
